CTYFL Scholarship Application 

CTYFL  YOUTH  FOOTBALL  and  CHEERLEADING  SCHOLARSHIP 

RULES  AND  REGULATIONS

1)   Former members of the Connecticut Youth Football  and Cheerleading League, who have played a minimum of two (2) full seasons at the “B” team level and one (1) full season at the “A” team level or one full season at the C team level, and who is a graduating senior may apply for this $1000 scholarship. There will be (2) $1000 dollar scholarships available, (1) for a football player and (1) for a cheerleader.              

2)   A senior is also eligible if he or she participates in a high school or youth football or cheerleading organization as an assistant to the team, assistant coach, equipment manager or some capacity that actively helps that organization eam.

3)   This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship with no restrictions to race, color, creed, gender, religion or national origin.

4)   The scholarship is to be used for educational training beyond high school in any University, college, technical, nursing, or tertiary school.

5)   The scholarship will be apportioned to the recipient or recipients chosen by the Scholarship committee.

6)   The scholarship is intended to be used toward first year tuition fees with payment being made directly to the student after certification of enrollment is received.

7)   Should the recipient find that for any reason he/she is unable to use the scholarship during the ensuing school year, the student forfeits all rights to it.

8)   The criteria for awarding the scholarship shall include but not be limited to the following:

a.  Minimum grade point average of 3.0

            b.  Copy of students transcript

            c.  Participation in varsity level football and cheerleading

            d.  Submission of 500 word essay in which the applicant describes how either football

        or cheerleading has enriched his/ her life.

9)    The applicant must complete and return the questionnaire, teacher recommendation and essay to the applicant’s town football organizations board by May 15, this year.

10)   The essay must be 500 words, typed, and single-spaced. Please be sure to include your name, address, and phone number on the essay.

11)   Awards will be announced no later than May 30, this year.

CTYFL 2007 BYLAWS 

These are the new bylaws for the 2007.  New towns voted into the league for 2007 are Glastonbury, Hartford, and New Hartford.
